Postnatal care

Babies born to mothers whose zinc status is adequate are much easier to settle and cry a lot less.

After the birth of your baby, you may be left physically and emotionally depleted and needing help to get back on track. The best thing you can give your baby is your own health.  The postnatal program offers education and support to assist you during this very special time.

Breastfeeding is the best possible food for your baby. It provides all the nutritional requirements and is the ultimate ‘preventive medicine’ along with being an immunological super-food.  It is biochemically unique and specific to the needs of your child at any stage of development.  It is also very convenient as it is always available, doesn't need heating and is economical.  Breastfeeding also offers a special time to connect and bond with each other.

Although breastfeeding is a natural process, sometimes it doesn't come ‘naturally’ and problems can arise.  There are times when breastfeeding is not possible for reasons including choice and individual circumstances.  Katherine offers support and strategies to assist with feeding issues to make breastfeeding a more enjoyable process. If you have chosen not to breastfeed Katherine can support you with making choices that are best for your baby's health.
